Our team from Yacht-Match Europe had many appointments with our consultancy clients. We accompanied them from yacht to yacht, explaining every model’s pros and cons and comparing them directly. Live onboard
The demand for catamarans is further growing. We spoke to numerous people new to the leisure marine market which see the advantages of catamarans. They appreciate the vast deck spaces, the saloon, and cockpit on one level, and the spacious cabins. We met remote workers seriously considering living onboard instead of in a house. Shipyards are tapping into this evolving trend by offering cats specific layouts, such as the Nautitech 44 open with her utility room My Smartroom.
Performance counts
The interest in monohulls with better sailing qualities is increasing too. In the past, one needed an entire team to handle performance yachts. Nowadays, the shipyards and their naval architect’s design deck layouts for short-handed crews, who still want to have fun while sailing. As a result, brands like Italia Yachts enjoy an upswing from buyers with sportive aspirations all around Europe.
From quantity to quality
At the higher end of the yachting spectrum, we had the opportunity to welcome several clients on semi-custom sailing yachts such as ICE Yachts. We organized two sea trials during the boat show evenings for those who know to value the quality of handcrafted high-tech products. And admittedly, sailing in all comfort, almost as fast as the windspeed against the Cannes backdrop, is addictive!
