We are proud to announce that the Nautitech 44 OPEN won the EYOTY 2023 award in the Multihull category on January 21st at boot Düsseldorf.
European Yacht of the Year
Every year at boot Düsseldorf the presentation of the awards “European Yacht of the Year” for sailing yachts takes place, where jury members from twelve sailing magazines across Europe choose the nominees and winners. The winner of this year’s 2023 “European Yacht Of The Year” for the Multihull category is Nautitech 44 Open, competing against other 6 models. This year the jury merged the “Cruising Multihulls” and “Performance Multihulls” categories, meaning the N44 Open stood out for its exceptional sailing performance and unequalled design.

The reasoning behind why Nautitech 44 Open was the jury’s choice for “European Yacht Of The Year” is best summarized in their own words. They praised N44 Open for its “perfect size for traveling, (with) good performance, a shrunken draft and room for family and friends.” Moreover, it manages to combine the comfort of the two hulls with the performance of a modern boat, and in comparison, to its competitors “the volume of the hulls is not as generous, but its potential under sail wins support.”
The jury was also impressed with the Nautitech designers’ ingenuity for placing the weight at specific spots, making the yacht have “good rigidity associated with a controlled weight.”
Exterior

The double helm station, sleek hull lines and inverted bow bring functionality, yet safety to the N44 Open design. The use of foam (micro perforated) PVC closed cell (divinycell) makes this catamaran have the lightest weight compared to the same size models of other brands. Moreover, the lowered position of the boom increases the efficiency of the mainsail in its lower part.
Interior
The new Nautitech 44 Open interior is designed to provide a modern and elegant atmosphere. Its spacious cockpit and luxurious saloon merge into one huge living space, where there’s space to talk, to rest, for friends and for yourself. The life aboard a Nautitech Open is defined by comfort and plenty of space to make you feel at home when you spend hours at sea.

What are the other distinctive features of the new Nautitech 44 Open in terms of sailing?
When it comes to sailing, either if it is a relaxed leisure trip or a sporty sailing to move from A to B in the fastest possible way, this boat is reliable, easily manageable and maneuverable even by a small crew.
Nautitech 44 Open has a double aft steering station. The advantages of this configuration are many, such as:
– Easily dock manoeuvres with a perfect view of the hull side and the possibility of mooring the rear without moving from the helm.
– View of the water and sails whether windward or leeward.
– Optimum steering sensation thanks to a steering system using short-circuit steering cable.
– Maximum lowering of the boom, unlike the fly helm station or semi-fly, to increase the effectiveness of the mainsail that comes flush with the roof and to allow an easy access to the mainsail for furling.
– Security and optimised communication with the crew.
– Having the cockpit and helms on the same level makes the boat more sociable under sail, and safer to move around.
