The sailing yacht Sun Odyssey 519 “Elise of Sweden” is one of our VAGABOND fleet where we feature selected and perfectly maintained owner boats of 4-8 years that recently came into our charter management. To join our fleet, each boat has to meet certain criteria regarding her quality and condition.

Monohulls slice through the water effortlessly and without the slapping that some catamarans especially with low bridge decks often produce. They also tack quickly and respond faster to the helm than a catamaran.
Design:
Monohulls are designed with best compromise between ergonomics of maneuvers and of interior spaces and volumes.
Mooring:
Especially during the high summer season in the Mediterranean, there will be more than one occasion when you will be grateful to be in a monohull and will access moorings and marinas easier.

Start by selecting your desired dates and booking your charter week through our form in advance. This ensures you secure your preferred time slot. Once your charter week is confirmed, book your flights to and from the departure location. Early bookings often offer better deals.

Research and plan the sailing route you wish to explore. Discuss your preferences with the crew to align your expectations. If you don’t know what to see, the crew are happy to assist with their recommendations.
Plan your activities and equipment:
Determine the activities you’d like to enjoy during your trip, such as stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), snorkeling, or other water sports so the crew can prepare the equipment.
Pack smart and travel light:
Soft luggage or bags are better then hard suitcases, as they are easier and safer to stow on board. Focus on essentials like swimwear, a windproof jacket and comfortable clothing – you won’t need a full wardrobe. It‘s also wise to bring anti-seasickness pills just in case.
Secure insurance coverage:
Remember to book your crew liability insurance, as it’s obligatory for your safety. Additionally, strongly consider travel cancellation insurance to keep your investment safe in case unforeseen circumstances arise.

Around the age of 28-30, he rediscovered his passion for sailing, joined a crew, and started chartering in the Baltic Sea. The desire to own his own boat grew, and so he became a skipper and bought his first Bugaboo Catamaran, a Lagoon 440, fully equipped and ready for adventures. Soon, he started sharing his knowledge and love for the sea with family, friends, and charter guests.
In 2012, Ralf’s adventures brought his future wife Betty into the picture. Together they sailed through the seasons in the Caribbean waters for seven incredible years, growing both the Bugaboo’s and their own reputation regionally.
The Bugaboo was eventually sold and they returned to Germany right before the COVID-19 pandemic, but the burning desire to return to sailing remained. Ralf and Betty decided to acquire a newer 2022 version of the favourite Bugaboo Catamaran. The goal was simple: to let others experience the beauty of the Caribbean from aboard through tailored charter experiences.
